With the 66th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Trade Fair being pushed to 2021, this year’s edition has been replaced with a virtual trade fair that will be taking place next week. According to Professional Jeweller, the online trade fair will take place from Monday, November 2, to Wednesday, November 4. The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) has organized this online exhibition to “enhance trade channels and increase Thai gems and jewelry industry capacity.”
The organizers say that despite Thailand being successful in handling the COVID-19, other countries are still affected, making it difficult for international travel. They have organized the online trade fair to help remove the restrictions on trade and increase sales.
Buyers and sellers will now meet online and trade just like an ordinary trade fair, with more than 600 local and foreign companies expected to participate in the online trade fair. Seminars have also been organized for the participants to learn more about jewelry-related issues through video conferencing.
Next year’s trade fair is scheduled to occur in February between 23rd and 27th in Muang Thong Thani’s IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center.
